The mountain village of Lefkes is located almost at the heart of the island, at an altitude of 250m, 11 km from Parikia. It is a beautiful village, built on the slopes of the mountain. The combination of nature and the traditional Cycladic elements give it a unique charm.
Here you can only walk around, as no vechicles are allowed in the village. Visitors of Lefkes are impressed by the whitewashed houses in the verdant landscape and the narrow, cobbled alleys. In the village square you will find the oldest café on the island, serving customers for over a century.
If you love hiking the byzantine path from Lefkes to Pròthromos is a must. It was made with marble one thousand years ago and leads you among olive groves and myrtles.
